Can I just say that Teen Wolf is getting better and better! Something else that’s great is seeing Derek run after the Kanima. The two hash it out until Chris Argent puts several bullets in Jackson. But, that doesn’t keep him down for long… He shoves Chris out of the away only to see him “kneeling” to Gerard. WTFur!

Scott and Stiles go after him. They end up at a club called The Jungle, where they found his next target- Danny. It looks like Danny and his boyfriend are broken up. As Scott and Stiles try to buy drinks they spot Danny on the dance floor and Jackson waiting to get his shot. A bunch of guys hit the ground. In a cloud of smoke, Derek makes his move and scratches Jackson. Scott watching the whole thing follows Derek and a trail of black blood outside to find Jackson in human form unconscious on the ground.

Meanwhile, Allison drops Lydia off at her house and of course Lydia wants to know what’s going on. Allison asks her to keep the secret that she and Scott are still together.

Then next day, Scott and Stiles decide to lock Jackson in a police van to convince him that he is “killing people to death!” Old Man Argent interrogates Allison to find out why Jackson didn’t show up for school. Jackson’s adoptive father proves to Sheriff Stilinski that Jackson didn’t send him the text. The rest of the episode ends in Jackson getting a restraining order against our fave duo. What a tool!

In the next episode, we find out more about the legend of the Kanima. According to the legend, South American priests would use the creature as a weapon of vengeance and to execute murders. It searches for a master to control it. They did mention a bond between a priest and  the beast being so strong that the priest used it to murder who ever. It is supposed to a werewolf but won’t transition until it reconciles with its past.

It turns out Jackson never met his biological parents because they died before he was born. He had to be delivered by C-section. Erica’s father was the insurance investigator at the crime scene. We also learn that not only is Jackson a rich son-of-a-b**** now but he will get an insurance settlement when he’s 18!

Image via Google

Because of Scott and Jackson fighting in the boys locker room, those two, Allison, Stiles, Erica, and Matt end up in detention with creepy Mr. Harris. When Mr. Harris leaves he makes the crew shelve the library books. We then find that he is the master controlling Jackson! Or is he? He leaves a message for the gang to stay out of his way or die. Ka-Jackson exits through the window leaving Matt and Erica wounded.

Scott and Stiles take Erica to Derek to get the toxin out of her system. Scott decides to join Derek’s pack to save Jackson and Beacon Hills.

Image via Google

Meanwhile, we find out what’s up with Lydia and Psycho Boy! It turns out that it Uncle Peter trying to get his plan B into motion. Since Lydia is immune to the bite, she is the only that can bring him back from the dead!

Teeth n’ Nails:

  • Was it just me or did Lydia making the evil smile look Renfield-ish?
  • I think Jackson’s biological parents were murdered.
  • What does Gerard have up his sleeve?
  • Allison’s mom should take a chill pill!
  • Gotta love that snake that went in and out!

Teen Wolf S2, E5 “Venomous” Recap/Review

It looks like Derek is a little pissed about being attacked by the Kanima! I would be too if I was considered to be the most powerful of all shape shifters and all the sudden in a blink of an eye I’m paralyzed from the neck down.

Image via Google

We see a rather frustrated Jackson weight lifting and not satisfied because he was able to lift his truck the other night. We know something is happening to Jackson because he is able to hear things us average Joes can’t like the water dripping from the sink. He gets an unexpected visit from Erica who grabs and takes him to Derek’s secret hide out. Derek asks him what happened on the full moon. Jackson believes that nothing happened because he video taped himself. But, Derek isn’t convinced. He force feeds Jackson the venom from kanima because his theory is that “a snake cannot be poisoned by is own venom.” Well, Jackson wasn’t the snake they were looking for (so they think).

Image via Google

During the coach’s class, Scott has a hunch that the kanima is Lydia which would make a lot of sense if we go by these facts:

  • Lydia has been acting strange but many of us believe it is due to PTS of being bitten by Uncle Peter.
  • In the last episode, there was blood on the bed and mirror in her room.
  • Derek said the kanima is confused by its reflection which would explain the broken mirror in her room.
  • Every time she has one of her moments of freaking out, the kanima shows up. So the transformation has to be caused by emotion.
  • During class, she thought everyone was staring at her. Then, she sees Uncle Peter throwing chairs and blowing some kind of dust in her face. Before she realizes it, she writes “Somebody help me” backwards on the chalkboard.

    Image via Google

The rest of the school day consisted of playing musical chairs in chemistry class and keeping Lydia away from Isaac and Erica. Scott went to have a chat with Derek to convince him not to kill Lydia. This is what was exchanged:

Image via Google

  • Derek doesn’t have enough proof it’s Lydia.
  • The kanima could be Jackson
  • Jackson and Lydia could be immune but, Derek doesn’t think this reason is possible.
  • Derek was hoping the bite would kill Jackson.
  • Derek mentioned that sometimes when  you shift you show what you are on the inside and says that “even Jackson calls her cold-blooded.” If that’s the case, we now know why Uncle Peter was so f***in’ ugly as a were!

Image via Google

Image via Google

So the Scooby gang go to Scott’s house to protect Lydia while Derek and Boyd wait outside for Isaac and Erica to capture her. While Scott and Isaac are hashing it out, Allison totally takes care of Erica and leaves her immobilized! Jackson and Lydia have a moment of rekindling of their relationship. While in a passionate kiss we noticed something going on with Jackson’s skin because…HE IS THE KANIMA!  We also have proof from 2 hours missing from his video.

Image via Google

Teeth n’ Nails:

  • Also, we know it’s him because his lacrosse equipment  had tears in it.
  • Who was his “friend”?
  • What is up with Matt?
  • Allison looks so bad-ass with her crossbow!
  • Do you think we’ve seen the last of Uncle Peter?

After taking a beating from the all mighty Alpha Derek, Scott races to the his boss, Dr. Deaton, to get something to heal his wound. We find out that when a beta is scratched by an alpha it the wound takes longer to heal. Our fave ‘vet’ shows Scott the hunter that got attacked the mysterious creature. And he looked pretty torn up!  They hear a car drive up and it turns out to be Argent and friends. Deaton warns them that killing may be the creature’s only purpose and they should be ‘very afraid.’

Image via Google

Meanwhile, Stiles is getting his car fixed. He has an encounter with the deadly creature but the creature didn’t attack him. Instead, it killed the mechanic. It just went about its business. After the police arrive, he admits to Scott he felt that it knew him.

Image via Google

Image via Google

If I had a trainer like Derek I’d probably be in better shape!!! I feel sorry for him because not only does he have the Argents on his ass but this new creature is quickly becoming a bigger threat. So, he has to quickly teach the betas everything he knows so they can survive but 2 out of 3 of these idiots just ain’t getting it!

Image via Google

The next day, Lydia’s mom wakes her up for school and there is blood everywhere! Not only that, her mirror was bloody and cracked. What could this mean? Because of this her parents make her talk to the guidance counselor. While for her appointment, she talks to a smart, yet mysterious boy.

At the lacrosse game, Allison accompanies her grandpa. She sneaks his office keys to Stiles so he can look for the beastiary to help them find out what the creature is. Jackson, Danny, and the Camera Guy find out that there are 2 hours missing from the footage Jackson taped. During the game, Scott breaks his leg (but of course it heals). Boyd joins the game and while playing his eyes start glowing.

While Stiles looks for the beastiary, Erica and Derek ask him to describe the creature he saw. As he describes its’ eyes, the creature attacks Derek and paralyzes him for a couple hours. We find that the creature has a weakness – water!

Image via Google

Victoria and Chris Argent get a surprise at dinner when the star lacrosse player walks in with Allison and Grandpa. This scene was funny and awkward at the same time! We can see the struggle Chris is having with Scott. He follows The Code and does not want to hunt Scott. At the same time, he knows if Grandpa Gerard finds out that he is a were he will surely have to kill him. Scott and Allison excuse themselves to find the beastiary but figure out that Gerard keeps it on him at all times because it’s on his flash drive!

Image via Google

Image via Google

Scott rescues Stiles and Derek. When he picks up a piece of glass the creature seemed confused about its reflection and takes off. Derek being so pissed that it paralyzed him, vowed to kill the kanima.

Image via Google

Teeth n’ Nails

  • What is this kanima and more importantly who is it?
  • Is the kanima Lydia?
  • What is going on with Lydia?
  • We now know Gerard is psycho for threatening to kill Scott’s mom.
  • Once again, what are those pills Gerard is seen popping?

Can I just say that it’s about time Mr. Argent started training his daughter to defend herself! It just seems that Beacon Hills is slowing becoming a town of supernatural activity. It’s nowhere near as populated as Bon Temps, but it might as well be!

Image via Google

Allison gets kidnapped (by a guy who we find out is another hunter) and is taken to the Hale house. Her father pretends to be tied to a chair and then makes a statement, “Our sons are trained to be warriors. Our daughters are trained to be leaders.”

Image via Google

After 2 1/2 hours of loosening the rope, she heads back home. Next thing we know the hunter is attack by that same creature that attacked Isaac’s father. Man, those were some serious looking claws!

Image via Google

The next day, our fave teens are in gym class. We are introduced to a new character, Erica. She has epilepsy and is constant made fun of due to her seizures. She makes an attempt at rock climbing and totally starts to freak out. Later that day, she tries at a second attempt to rock climb and ends up having a seizure. Scott being a werewolf senses this and the whole gym class comes to her rescue. While trying to rest in the hospital, she gets pulled into the morgue  by *Derek.* He offers her a better life free of seizures in exchange for joining his pack. Who could turn him down?

Image via Google

The next day, we see Jackson confront Lydia about her bite and blame her for ruining everything for him. Uh, Jackson. That’s a little dramatic don’t you think? At lunch, everyone is going about their business when all the sudden this hot girl walks in stealing the scene. As it turns out the girl is Erica. Stiles and Scott chase her down to find out that she is in Derek’s pack.

Image via Google

During a double date and really throughout the episode, Lydia PTSDs.  She first “sees” a man’s feet in the ladies’ room.  Come to find out the man is Uncle Peter.  At the ice skating rink, she “sees” wolfsbane on the ice with Uncle Peter under it. These hallucinations have to mean something.

Image via Google

After figuring out that Boyd was next to be in Derek’s pack, Scott pays Boyd a visit at the rink and attempts to talk him out of joining the pack.  Then, is interrupted by an offended Derek and his subjects. This ends in Scott totally kicking Isaac’s and Erica’s asses. Then, Scott takes a beating from Derek.

Image via Google

The last scene ends in Jackson lifting his truck. Hmmm…

Teeth n’ Nails

  • There is something not right about Mrs. Argent. No anesthetic?
  • “I don’t want you to be normal. I want you to be alive.” -Allison
  • “It is about power.” -Derek
  • “Right. I wanna be like you.” -Boyd

I don’t know about you, but watching black blood dripping from Jackson’s orifices creeped me out! Especially since, Derek walked away scarred.

Image via Google

In this episode, we get a look into what kind of home life Isaac has (or had). He lives with a very strict, abusive, and crazy father. Any parent who throws silverware and other kitchen items at their child shouldn’t be a parent and should be put in a crazy house. As Daddy Dearest throws a glass at him, one of the broken pieces damned near hits Isaac in the eye. As he tries to tell his dad he could’ve blinded him, his wound rapidly heals leaving his dad intrigued. Isaac then goes on the run. As his father tries to track him down, he finds Isaac’s bike in the middle of an alley only to be attacked by a strange creature.

Image via Google

Meanwhile, Scott and Allison spend time together while her parents are off having a “date night.” We come to find that the “date night” consists of torturing the BHHS principal to death to put Crazy Grandpa in his place.

Image via Google

The next day, Scott smells that there is another werewolf on the lacrosse team. In his funny attempt to expose him, he charges out of the goalie area and totally tackles his teammates. But, Stiles figures out that it’s Isaac. As Scott charges at Isaac and tries to tackle him they both land on all fours! (I totally called this. Did you?) Isaac asks Scott to not tell anyone. Who is he gonna tell? He’s in the same boat you’re in, just more mileage! Then, the police come and take him away for questioning.

Image via Google

In a scene with Gerard and Allison’s father, they discuss Isaac and make it real obvious to Allison that they’re up to something. Did anyone notice the camera shot on Gerard’s pills? I figured some might be heart medicine because let’s face it-he’s no spring chicken!

Back to Jackson’s narcissistic ass, he borrows a camera to shoot himself “changing.” While he is videotaping himself, Derek and Scott go to Isaac’s house to search for clues to figure what killed his father. While in the basement, they discover an old box with scratches on it. Derek also goes with Stiles to the police station to free Isaac. While trying to flirt the officer at the front desk (What a smile!), Stiles runs into an officer who tries to inject with wolfsbane. Isaac attacks the officer and tries to attack Stiles until Derek gets him in line!

Image via Google

Image via Google

Later that night, Allison secures Scott in the box to keep from attacking on the full moon until she is almost attacked by the same creature that murdered Isaac’s father. The creature was faster and stronger than any weres on this show!

Image via Google

Teeth n’ Nails:

  • I’m very curious to find out who and what the creature is.
  • Why did it attack Isaac’s father?
  • What were those scratches in the box from?
  • Will Jackson change into something?

Teen Wolf S2, E1 “Omega” Recap/Review

It’s been a year since we saw the murderous Uncle Peter killed the person responsible for setting most of the Hale family a fire. Since Allison forgave Scott. And last but certainly not least, since our fave and handsome Derek took a slash at becoming the new alpha.

Image via Google

But the end of season 1 of Teen Wolf left us with some burning questions.

  • How will the Argents deal with public knowing about Kate’s arson?
  • How did Kate know when to commit the crime?
  • Will Allison’s parents ever accept her dating Scott?
  • What is Lydia?
  • Will Jackson be a werewolf?
  • Is Derek good, bad, or stuck in the middle?

    Image via Google

Image via Google

As the episode begins, we see Jackson coming out the water shirt ripped and side bitten. My question is why did Derek have to bite him on the side? How about the arm?! Next, Scott is running (on all fours) to spend some time with Allison. Their time is cut short when he hears her parents pull up in the garage. We are shown a flashback of the couple having some cuddle time when Mr. Argent threatens Scott with a gun. Allison swears to not see him again in exchange for his life. But we know how that works!

Image via Google

Lydia finally wakes up in the hospital. As she is showering, she hallucinates and sees black water coming from the drain and pulls out hair/fur. Before we know it, a familiar hand grabs her arm. Frightened she screams and escapes her room.

Image via Google

In this episode we are introduced to 3 new characters.

  • Isaac is on the lacrosse team and also works at the grave yard.
  • An omega-both Scott and Isaac have brief encounter with the were.
  • Gerard Argent is Allison’s grandpa.

Image via Google

One night, Isaac is digging a grave when all of a sudden he sees a hand with long nails touching one of the tombstones and later something digging through one of the graves. Out of nowhere something pushes the bulldozer over and he hides in the grave he was digging. Derek asks if he needed a hand. It’s pretty obvious the Derek needs him for his pack.

As it turns out, the creature digging the grave was a werewolf known as an omega. Omega were either kicked out of their pack, survived being a part of a hunted down pack, or are alone on their free will. This one in particular was harmless. He eats things that are dead. Hence, the incidents of the graveyard and the ambulance.

Image via Google

Gerard Argent does not seem like the type of grandpa to read stories to his grandkids. It turns out that he hasn’t seen Allison sence she was three. Interesting… He is also responsible for slicing the omega in half to declare war.

Teeth n’ Nails:

  • “No Code,” he said. “Not when they murder my daughter.” Umm, your daughter was the reason she was murdered. What goes around, comes around.
  • Does Grandpa Argent give anyone else the chills? There’s something off about him.
  • Overall, I believe this season has gotten to a great start. I love how the storylines are progressing very fast so I look forward to Mondays.
  • Scott’s new hairstyle is way better than last season’s coif.
  • What the hell was that creature that attacked Isaac’s father?

That is pretty much how my graduation weekend went. My mom and I were very exhausted. We still had enough cake to last the next two days! Congrats to the Class of 2012!

FINALS: Days 2 & 3

Tags

Sorry it took awhile to start posting again but I have been so busy with work and graduation that I needed a rest from my laptop. Plus, I have been thinking of new ideas to keep this blog more interesting! More details will come in later posts.

Here is how the rest of finals week went.

DAY 2

Tuesday, I was lucky to only have one final in the one class I needed to graduate…Management 441 a.k.a. Strategic Management! In this class, we were divided in teams to compete as athletic shoe companies through an online simulation called the Business Strategy Game (BSG). My team was Hermes Footwear. We started off in the game at the bottom. Midway through the simulation we were #1, then ended in fourth place.

Instead of having an actual final, we had a poster session displaying our decisions and performance throughout the simulation.

DAY 3

On the last day, I had my Applied Public Relations and Retail finals. These were more of the traditional “scantron and #2 pencil” finals. The Writing in Public Relations final took almost 2 hours to complete. Most of it was AP Style writing.

I blogged that I would you the link to my professional website after it was graded. Here it is: www.siue.edu/~jawade/

How did everyone’s finals go?

Think Like a Man

So three days ago, my boyfriend and I finally got to see “Think Like a Man.” In case you have been living under a rock, the film is based on comedian and host of Family Feud, Steve Harvey’s advice book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. I am not one to give away the movie, but I will say whether you are in a relationship or not, male or female, everyone should see this movie!

The film, like the book, explains why some women are single and *cough* bitter. It also shows why some men are single as well. It really got me thinking.

Image via Internet Movie Database

Granted I am in a long-term relationship, I related to the character Mya (Meagan Good) the most. She is where most young women are in their lives-had enough with players and failed relationships. I have to agree with what she said. What is with the men of this generation? I’m not saying all men want just want to hook-up. What I am saying is some just want the “cookie.” Then, you have those that don’t want to grow up, and/or are way too attached to their moms.

The other female characters I could see in family members and friends. One in particular was Taraji P. Henson. She did a great job (as she always does) in portraying the single female that has standards that are way too high. A man does not always have to make the same salary and/or drive the same car as you. Think less external and more internal. What are the qualities that you look for in a man? What are his goals, dreams, and aspirations? What are his hobbies? Men should look the same in women.

Don’t make it easy to earn your complete trust, love, “cookie,” and respect.

A friend once told me: Picture a tree full of apples. Boys go after the first apples they see or the apples that fall off the tree because they’re easy to get. Real men climb after the ones that are higher in the tree because they are willing to work hard to get what they want.

I rank this movie 5 out 5! I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD!

FINALS: Day 1

Today is day 1 of three days of finals! Lucky for me, the two finals I have today are not the standard finals where you come in with a #2 pencil and a scantron. They’re more like end of semester projects. So, I am spending today working on my website/e-portfolio and personality profile.

In my Technology Application in Public Relations class, I have learned how to use Adobe InDesign to design a letterhead, a brochure, and a newsletter. With Adobe Dreamweaver, I am designing website to make myself marketable to employers. The website will contain my resume, work samples I did in class, and other information about me. Thankfully the site is almost done and not due until Friday. I will post the link to the site once it is graded.

For my Writing for Media class, I am just turning in my personality profile and the professor is going to give some words of wisdom. I’ll probably be there 15 minutes at the most. For this assignment, I had to interview a staff or faculty member on campus. For my sources, I had to also interview people who know the person like colleagues, students, and/or family members. The personality profile is on a professor. I am in the process of interviewing some students and trying to interview a colleague. This assignment is due at 6:30 p.m. Talk about working on deadline!
